the deets of the proposal…08.11.2001 (Brooklyn, NY):

dinner reservations in Manhattan for their one year anniversary….the atmosphere was mellow and romantic…dinner was served….while eating the second course of dinner the dialog is something like…

Onida asks Danny: So when do you think we should get engaged?

Danny (ever the cool and collected character, answers nonchalantly): Soon. (with ring in pocket)

Onida not reading too much into his response completely ignores the obvious: Mmm..hmm

They finish eating…

Danny suggests: Let’s take a walk on the Promenade in Brooklyn Heights to view the sky line of Manhattan.

Onida: OK.

While on the Promenade after walking for a few…

Danny suggests: Let’s sit down on this bench right here.

Onida: OK.

After sitting for a few minutes…

Danny (standing up as if he was stretching)

Onida (interrupting…thinking he is being his normal playful self): Are you OK?

Danny (quickly gets on one knee): Onida, will you marry me? (producing the ring from his pocket)

Onida: Yes!!!

Onida: fellow math teacher, doctoral student

Daniel:  instructional assistant, head volleyball coach, adjunct math teacher, & telecom manager….whew!
