I luv real engagements starring Brandi+Damian. I had to show some AAW knottie luv to my knottie sister and share her proposal with y’all. So grab a cup of coffee and move in closer to the screen.
Picture it. Christmas 2008…A weird-acting Damian drives Brandy over to her cousin’s house for a festive feast with the fam. After the blessing of the food, Damian grabs the hand of a very hungry and food-focused Brandi. Staring deep into her eyes, he professes his luv and assumes the position (yes y’all…down on one knee). At this point, the fam has stopped and dropped everything and all eyes are on Brandi+Damian. I wish I could tell you what he said after that but all she saw was his lips moving and has no memory of what he said. LOL! Luckily, she does remember when he pulled out the box with the rock and him asking her to spend the rest of her life with him. Her reply…”Are you serious?” Classic. “So I’m walking in the mall, I’m on break from my summer job, and I stroll into a store called Urban Hype. I was feeling good that day, but I had no idea that this was indeed my lucky day, one that would change my life forever. I see what might be the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. However, I need a good story, a good line for this to work out in my favor. So what do I do? I try on and ultimately buy a pair of guess jeans from this young lady. In the process, while translating the Hillsborough accent, I ask her if she wants to see a play. She said that she might like that date idea. And as they say, the rest is history.”
Awhhh…Ain’t he smooth like butta? This couple also shows a kind of closeness that comes with seven years of dating and traveling the world together (I know they look so young…they were college sweet hearts!). Now down to the pix…It’s OK to stare since the couple can’t see you; but, please try not to drool over these yum-yums. That’s just plain rude. Be inspired.

I luv real engagements with Angela+Clyde photographed by Sky+Carla Photographers. Their pix remind me of a neo-soul video. I swear I can here Dwele or Tyler Woods singing in the background! I luv everything about them. Angela’s cute lil natural (go on and rock it, girl….i luv my funky fro too), mod-squad dress, or mean shoe game and Clyde’s hat, bow tie, suspenders, and argyles. This couple is so cool. These perfect e-pix as well as the hovering helicoptor proposal validates this claim for sure. (Helicopter…Gold star for Clyde). My fave pix are the sexy library shot, the suspenders pull (hello, luv!), the purple balloon jump shot, …, the shoe shots…oh y’all still here? You get the idea. The photos are fabu and funky fresh! dinner reservations in Manhattan for their one year anniversary….the atmosphere was mellow and romantic…dinner was served….while eating the second course of dinner the dialog is something like…
Onida asks Danny: So when do you think we should get engaged?
Danny (ever the cool and collected character, answers nonchalantly): Soon. (with ring in pocket)
Onida not reading too much into his response completely ignores the obvious: Mmm..hmm
They finish eating…
Danny suggests: Let’s take a walk on the Promenade in Brooklyn Heights to view the sky line of Manhattan.
Onida: OK.
While on the Promenade after walking for a few…
Danny suggests: Let’s sit down on this bench right here.
Onida: OK.
After sitting for a few minutes…
Danny (standing up as if he was stretching)
Onida (interrupting…thinking he is being his normal playful self): Are you OK?
Danny (quickly gets on one knee): Onida, will you marry me? (producing the ring from his pocket)
Onida: Yes!!!
