I luv real engagements featuring Jackie+Shaun. This couple has a sexy swagger, great sense of style (Jackie is wearing that dress and kudos to Shaun on the vest and bow tie), and the camera just luvs them (and y’all know the camera doesn’t lie). Speaking of style…no wonder they are just oozing with it…they met at Urban Hype of all places!!! Check out how Shaun played it…

“So I’m walking in the mall, I’m on break from my summer job, and I stroll into a store called Urban Hype. I was feeling good that day, but I had no idea that this was indeed my lucky day, one that would change my life forever. I see what might be the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. However, I need a good story, a good line for this to work out in my favor. So what do I do? I try on and ultimately buy a pair of guess jeans from this young lady. In the process, while translating the Hillsborough accent, I ask her if she wants to see a play. She said that she might like that date idea. And as they say, the rest is history.”

Awhhh…Ain’t he smooth like butta? This couple also shows a kind of closeness that comes with seven years of dating and traveling the world together (I know they look so young…they were college sweet hearts!). Now down to the pix…It’s OK to stare since the couple can’t see you; but, please try not to drool over these yum-yums. That’s just plain rude. Be inspired.

#19 i luv…chess squares

I luv chess squares. I mean I really luv these Southern-style sweets. I literally can eat half the pan by myself quicker than you can say trick-or-treat. I thought I’d put this yummy recipe up today to satisfy your Halloween sweet tooth. The recipe is pretty easy-peezy. All you need is butter cake mix, confectioners’ sugar, cream cheese, butter, and eggs. BTW…if you are having a southern inspired wedding, serving chess squares along with mini pecan and sweet potato pies and grandma’s pound cake…..mmmmm….is a great idea. Be inspired.

Cook Time: 40 min.

Ingredients:

1 package butter cake mix
1 stick butter, (4 oz), softened
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 box confectioners’ sugar, (1 lb)
3 eggs, slightly beaten
8 ounces cream cheese, softened

Preparation:

Combine cake mix, butter and egg and pat into 9×13″ pan. Mix sugar, eggs and cream cheese, and pour on the crust mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes, or until browned.

#18 i luv…vinyl CDs

I luv vinyl CDs. I am a member of two community boards and on both boards the question of “Are CD gifts played?” came up. My first response was a resounding “YES MA’AM”….Since finding vinyl CDs, I would like to change my answer <holding up my pointer (i.e., index) finger like you do in church> . A fellow blogger, BuckeyeBride, decided to put a twist on this idea and make the CDs look like old 45s. They doubled as favors as well as place cards. GREAT cost-effective and fresh idea! What is old is now new again. I luv a good throw back. Pix are below. Be inspired.

I luv the color purple. Found a few purple pix while browsing through a few fave photogs’ portfolios. This is a hot new wedding color that can be incorporated anywhere from BM dresses to cakes to florals. Be inspired. (BTW…Are you proud of me? I made it through this post without using a goofy lil reference to the classic movie…even though peeps still mispronounce my name and call me Celie…LOL!)

I luv real engagements with Angela+Clyde photographed by Sky+Carla Photographers. Their pix remind me of a neo-soul video. I swear I can here Dwele or Tyler Woods singing in the background! I luv everything about them. Angela’s cute lil natural (go on and rock it, girl….i luv my funky fro too), mod-squad dress, or mean shoe game and Clyde’s hat, bow tie, suspenders, and argyles. This couple is so cool. These perfect e-pix as well as the hovering helicoptor proposal validates this claim for sure. (Helicopter…Gold star for Clyde). My fave pix are the sexy library shot, the suspenders pull (hello, luv!), the purple balloon jump shot, …, the shoe shots…oh y’all still here? You get the idea. The photos are fabu and funky fresh! Be inspired.

I luv real weddings starring Angela+Clyde. The day has come…finally.
